OVERVIEW

The tour will spend six days in Rwanda, traveling through a country of a thousand hills. You will visit some of the National Parks: Nyungwe Forest National Park for chimpanzees, canopy walkways, ziplines, and waterfalls, and Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking and golden monkeys. You will also visit the biggest lake in Rwanda, Lake Kivu.

Day 1: Kigali-Nyanza-Nyungwe National Park

Day 2: Nyungwe Forest National Park

Day 3: Nyungwe Forest National Park—Lake Kivu

Day 4: Lake Kivu–Musanze (Volcanoes National Park)

Day 5: Volcanoes National Park (gorilla)

Day 6: Golden Monkey—Kigali

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Start your day with breakfast, and then head to Nyungwe Forest National Park from the hotel via Nyanza. En route, you’ll visit the King’s Palace Museum and the Ethnographic Museum, where you can learn about Rwandan culture and the country’s history, from the kingdom to the republic. After completing all activities, take lunch in Nyanza in Stafford, and then we will continue the tour to Nyungwe Forest National Park, where we will spend the night at Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel.

Day 2: Wake up early, have breakfast at the hotel, and head to the reception of the park for the briefing before starting the chimpanzee trekking. After the chimpanzee, we will take lunch and then go for the canopy walkway, and then the zipline after we go back to the hotel and take dinner.

Day 3: Wake up earlier, take breakfast at the hotel, and head to the park reception to take a briefing before going to the waterfall. After we have lunch, we will start the journey to Lake Kivu in Rubavu. We will have dinner. Overnight at Kivu Hilltop View Hotel & Resort.

Day 4: Lake time…, We will take breakfast at the hotel and then go for a boat ride, and after we will go to the hot spring via the border of DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo) and have lunch at the hot spring area. We will travel from Rubavu to Musanze. Take dinner at Migano Coffee. Overnight at Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge. dinner at the hotel.

Day 5: Take breakfast at the hotel and go to the RDB office for the briefing, and join the group you will go with. You will go in a group of 8 people, and later you will go to the starting point for gorilla trekking. At the end of the trail, we will go to the hotel to take lunch and visit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund in the afternoon. After we go to the hotel to rest and have dinner.

Day 6: Wake up early, have breakfast, and go to the RDB office again to take the golden monkey trekking, go and have lunch at Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge, and later visit Gorilla Guardian village to experience our ancestors’ styles and the traditional Rwandan dance. Return to Kigali, take a stopover at Migano coffee in Musanze city, and continue the journey to Kigali city.
