Namugongo Martyrs shrine
What better way to get an insightful story about the Uganda martyrs than visiting Namugongo Martyrs shrine? This is a memorial site where Christian converts were burnt on the orders of Kabaka Mwanga from January 1885 to January 1887. One of the highlights is the Basilica, built with 22 copper pillars representing the 22 Catholic converts who were burnt at this place. The site guide at Namugongo will narrate how and the different locations where the young men were killed.
Kabaka’s palace
The main cultural attraction in Kampala is Kabaka’s palace where the Buganda kingdom has the royal home of the King (Kabaka). The palace is well situated on a hill overlooking the city center. On a visit to the site, you will learn both about the material and the supernatural kings. This city tour that includes Kabaka’s palace gives an opportunity to visitors to also access a section with the torture chambers where people suspected of being political threats were tortured during Amin’s regime.

The greenery environment, location on a hill overseeing Kampala City, and the tranquility can't be imagined in the middle of the city.
