Tour Plan
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to hotel
We shall welcome you to Uganda on your arrival at the airport, and transfer to your booked hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. The company driver who is also your guide for this safari will give you a briefing about the safari plus details of the next day’s program.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel
Hotel options: Forest Cottages (budget), Pineapple Guesthouse (midrange), Kampala Serena Hotel (Luxury)
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary
After our morning breakfast at the hotel, we shall set off for a transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. With a break at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos, we may see other animals including antelopes, monkeys, and numerous bird species. The rhinos are searched on foot with an armed ranger guide. We’ll have lunch and proceed to the park where we shall arrive in the late afternoon.
Lodge options: Heritage Safari Lodge (budget), Pakuba Safari Lodge (midrange), Chobe Safari Lodge (luxury)
Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise
Wake up early morning, have breakfast and drive to the plains of the northern part of Murchison Falls National Park. Expect to start spotting animals just a few minutes into the wild; hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs and Jackson’s hartebeest among others. The park also has a thriving population of lions which might be sighted during the drive. Leopards are shy and may not stay out for long if we spot them. The Abyssinian hornbill is a common savannah bird species sighted during game drives.
We shall have lunch at the lodge and go for a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. This exposes us to numerous wildlife including hippos, crocodiles, and lots of water birds. This route ends with views of the beautiful Murchison waterfalls as the Nile continues with its way to Lake Albert. After the roughly 3 hours boat cruise, we drive to the top of the falls and later return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: transfer back to Entebbe
Not an early morning today, but expect to have breakfast and check out of the lodge by 9:30 a.m. Embark on the journey to Kampala or Entebbe where we shall arrive in the evening.
