OVERVIEW

We will spend three days in Rwanda, mainly visiting Nyungwe Forest National Park. We will visit the genocide memorial at Gisozi, where we will learn about the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The tour will also cover Nyungwe Forest, Nyanza, the King’s Palace Museum, and activities like chimpanzee trekking, walking across the canopy walkway, and a Zipline adventure. Afterwards, we will return to Kigali.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Airport pickup and then a tour of Kigali city, where we will visit the Genocide Memorial site at Gisozi to learn more about the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi. We will have lunch at Kigali Repub Lounge. Later, we travel from Kigali to Nyungwe Forest via Nyanza King’s Palace Museum to see traditional Rwandan buildings and Inyambo cattle. We will have a stopover at Nyanza Stafford Coffee Shop. Afterward, we drive to Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel and have dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: Wake up earlier in the morning and go to the Nyungwe Forest reception to register and receive a briefing so you can start the chimpanzee trekking tour. After the tour, you will have lunch at Uwinka, at the park reception, and then go to the canopy walk and zipline. Afterwards, return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3: It’s a departure day…. Wake up in the morning, take breakfast at the hotel, and return from Nyungwe Forest to Kigali city to get ready for your flight, but you will shop for some souvenirs and gifts at Nyamirambo Women’s Center.
