OVERVIEW

The Kigali city tour for the Genocide memorial at Gisozi, mountain gorillas, and golden monkeys are found in the northern province of Rwanda, specifically in Volcanoes National Park. The Gorilla Guardian village mostly accompanies them, the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Airport pickup, and go for a Kigali city tour where we will visit the Genocide memorial site at Gisozi to know more about the Genocide against Tutsi in 1994 and take lunch in Kigali Repub Lounge. Later, we embark on a journey from Kigali city to Musanze, have dinner at Migano Coffee, and then stay overnight at Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge.

Day 2: Earlier in the morning, go for breakfast at the hotel. After that, you will go to the RDB office to meet the guides and join the group you are hiking with. You go in a group of 8 people; you first take a briefing before you go for gorilla trekking. While you will be experiencing the gorilla habitats and their life in their families, you will also be experiencing the natural walking in the park. You will take lunch at the Tiloreza Ecolodge after we visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla to learn more about the story of Dian Fossey with the gorillas. Then go back to the hotel.

Day 3: It’s Golden monkey’s day … , breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up from the hotel, we will go to the RDB office to take a briefing, and then meet the guide, who will take you to the golden monkey habitat. After the hike, you will get ready to visit the Gorilla Guardian in Kinigi, where you will learn and experience more about the Rwandan culture in traditional dances and our ancestors’ dressing style. After you have lunch and check out of the hotel, return to Kigali city, where you will have dinner and stay overnight at the Kigali Serena Hotel.

Day 4: Wake up in the morning, have breakfast, and go shopping and buy souvenirs in the Nyamirambo Women’s Center; after that, you will go get ready for the departure. We will drop you off at the airport according to the flight time.
